Drunk Woman Causes Heavy Crash, Injures Pregnant Sister in Bulgaria

A 22-year-old pregnant woman was seriously injured in a heavy car crash caused by her sister, who sat drunk behind the wheel near Bulgaria's village of Smolyanovtsi on Monday.

The driver lost control over the vehicle, which veered into the opposite lane and overturned.

The woman behind the wheel was driving with 1,92 permilles of alcohol in her blood, tests showed.

The pregnant victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with skull-brain and abdominal traumas.

The woman's condition is stable and her life is out of danger, doctors said.

The case is still under investigation.
