Three suspected terrorists aiming to mount attacks on Frankfurt's airport and a nearby US military base have been arrested, a regional German broadcaster reported Wednesday, as cited by dpa.
The targets were Germany's largest airport and the large Ramstein airbase used by the United States, the south-western regional broadcaster Suedwestrundfunk said, citing information from security services.
There was no confirmation from the prosecutors office after the arrests, which were reported to have taken place Tuesday evening.
Two of those arrested hold German passports and the other is a Pakistani, according to the report, which said the terrorist plans had been at an advanced stage.
