A 30-year-old Spanish man from Salamanca chopped off his own penis and threw it down the toilet because he "did not want to sin anymore", Typically Spanish reported.

He is now admitted to the ClГ­nico Universitario Hospital in the city and is reported to be out of danger.

The man, who lives in the San Bernardo area of the city, chopped off his member in the early hours of Friday, according to local newspaper �La Gaceta de Salamanca'. The paper says a member of his family was in the same house at the time and called the Emergency Services at 5am.

The identity of the man has not been released, and it's not known whether he suffers from some sort of psychological problem.
