Bulgaria's Interior Minister Rumen Petkov signed Tuesday the first agreement for cooperation with the European Commission in the framework of the prevention and fight against crime program.

The program aims at the building of a strong and active partnership within the borders of the European Union for encouragement, support and development of methods and techniques needed in the strategic reaction against crime. Its other target is to guarantee the security of the Bulgarians.

The program will help in the enhancement of the effectiveness in fight against crime.
