Bulgaria to Face EU Punishment if It Fails to Curb Illegal Alcohol Production

Bulgaria's alcohol business as a whole may face severe sanctions from the European Union if the country's government fails to curb the illegal production of alcohol beverages.

Meanwhile the association of alcohol producers, importers and traders vowed to put all efforts in keeping the excise tax on alcohol the same as it is in the moment.

There is no EU norm that might enforce the rising of excise tax at any rate, Branimir Botev, chairman of the alcohol association commented for Darik News.
