At least 25 people have died and many others have been injured when a building collapsed in a Mumbai suburb, BBC reported.
Officials say dozens more people are still trapped in the rubble of the seven-storey building in Borivali area.
The accident took place on Wednesday evening and rescuers used bulldozers and cranes to sift through the debris through the night to find survivors.
Authorities blame faulty repair work being carried out on the building for the collapse.
The building had shops and offices on the ground floor and residential quarters on the other floors.
In Indian cities where land is at a premium, thousands continue to live in old and dilapidated buildings and civic authorities are often accused of not enforcing building codes.
