Sarkozy Aide: There is Hope for Bulgarians in Libya

An aide of the French president has expressed hopes for clemency in the case of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor sentenced to death in Libya for allegedly infecting hundreds of children with the AIDS virus.

Claude Gueant accompanied French First Lady Cecilia Sarkozy to Libya Thursday.

Mrs. Sarkozy's recent meetings with Libyan leader Moammar Qaddafi and the families of the children went well, he said in Paris, as cited by VOA News.
