US private investment firm Baytree Capital will represent Dominic von Habsburg in the sale of Bran Castle in Romania, immortalised in Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
Under the terms of the agreement, Baytree will have exclusive rights to represent the Habsburgs with regard to Bran Castle and associated properties, the firm said in a statement on its website.
"Bran Castle is one of Romania's top tourist attractions, and with the expected boom in tourism generated by the mythological draw of Transylvania, the Habsburg family believes that a strategic plan for the development of Bran castle is needed," Baytree Capital chairman Michael Gardner said.
Dominic von Habsburg inherited the castle from his mother, Princess Ileana. His grandmother, Queen Maria, ordered the renovation of the castle after the World War I.
The castle was seized by the Communist regime in 1948 and became a museum, but von Habsburg asked for its restitution and the Romanian government returned it last year.
