Spain's Ibiza Airport Evacuated, Small Blast Follows

Police detonated a suspicious parcel at Spain's Ibiza airport after the airport was evacuated following a bomb warning, newspaper El Pais reported on Saturday.

Earlier it said a small bomb had exploded, without providing further details.

The island is currently enjoying the start of the high tourist season, traditionally a magnet for thousands of British holidaymakers.

The airport was evacuated after Basque newspaper Gara received a telephoned warning.

Police officials confirmed earlier that Ibiza airport had been evacuated after a bomb alert, but declined to comment further.
