The main Park Lane Street in downtown London was cordoned off over a second alert for a bomb planted in a car on Friday.
The security measures have been taken just hours after the police managed to defuse a bomb in Haymarket in the central part of the city, after a tip off led them to a vehicle in a side street close to Piccadilly earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, the government launched a terrorist investigation on the case of planting the explosive device, which was to bring maximum carnage and death to innocent passers-by.
The area around the spot of the first bomb found as well as Piccadilly tube are still closed. The Haymarket, Piccadilly Circus, Jermyn Street and some surrounding streets are also cordoned off as police are looking for evidence.
