Regional Policy European Commissioner Danuta Huebner and Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov discussed Thursday the grand investment projects to be realized in the city.
The underground extension and the construction of the garbage-recycling plant were among the main topics debated at the meeting.
The EU commissioner promised to help the process of financing these two projects from Brussels.
"This meeting, together with the certificate of first class investor, which Sofia Municipality received today, are good signs," Mayor Borissov underlined.
He expressed his hope for faster developing of the projects due to the European Commission's support.
The meeting took place in the framework of Danuta Huebner's two-day official visit to Bulgaria.
She met the finance, defence, EU affairs, transport, economy and environment ministers for discussion on the regional policy's development strategies.
Commissioner Huebner confered also with the mayors of the towns of Smoliyan, Strumiyani, Sevlievo and Montana.
