Regional Policy European Commissioner Danuta Huebner is coming to a two-day visit to Bulgaria on Thursday to discuss financial and regional policies with Bulgarian ministers and politicians.
The EU Commissioner is scheduled to meet Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski and experts from his Ministry. She will also meet Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov and representatives of the local authorities with whom she will discuss EU's operating programs for regional development.
There are no reasons to cut, decrease or delay of the financial help for Bulgaria coming from the Union, Huebner said on Wednesday, which means that probably there will be no financial sanctions proposed in the upcoming progress report on the country.
Huebner's department has no direct participation in preparing the report, but its assessment plays a decisive role in forming the evaluation of the work Bulgaria has performed on absorbing and managing the EU funds.
