The Seychelle Islands are turning into one of the hit destinations for Bulgarian tourists in recent years, spurred by their exotic location and growing incomes, industry officials said.
The Seychelles also have a consulate in Sofia, which has helped popularise the islands as a tourist destination, Anna Butler-Payette of 7 Degrees South Ltd. tourist agency told reporters.
The company held its second annual meeting with the press and Bulgarian tourism officials at the weekend.
It is also one of the fastest growing tour operators on the islands, focusing its marketing strategy on offering new services and branching out into new markets, where the Seychelles are under-represented as a tourist destination.
The tiny nation has just over 80,000 citizens on 115 islands in the western part of the Indian Ocean north of Madagascar.
