The 20-year-old Nevena Tsoneva won the first season of the reality show Music Idol in Bulgaria on Thursday evening.

The talented girl managed to eliminate her rival Teodor Koychinov, gathering 65,2% of the audience's votes after the final concert, which consisted of three rounds.

"I am just nothing without you," said the winner to express her gratitude to her fans. Then she made a stunning performance of the Bulgarian folklore song, which travels in outer space as a message from Earth.

The prize that Nevena deserved is a one-year contract with one of the biggest record companies Virginia Records, a representative of Universal Music in Bulgaria.

The first stage performance of the young music star was at the age of eight in her father's hometown of Apriltsi.

Nevena shares that her music idols are the world famous diva Mariah Carey and Bulgaria's pop-folk singer Gloria.

Her victory was the greatest present for her father's 50th anniversary. The two of them have issued an album some years ago. One of the songs in it, called "Prayer for you", is dedicated to Bulgaria's first Music Idol.
