EU and Serbia Resume Talks on June 13

World | June 7, 2007, Thursday // 00:00

The European Commission has invited Serbia to resume talks on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) on 13 June 2007, President Jose Manuel Barroso announced, as cited by EUexpands.

The move was made possible following the positive assessment of Serb cooperation with the Hague based Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the arrest of close aid of fugitive Ratko Mladic, Zdravko Tolimir.

A year ago, Brussels called off negotiations with Serbia due to the fail of the Serb authorities of arresting war criminal Ratko Mladic.
