Tastes and savours from all over Italia can be found at hand in Sofia's Piccadilly chain of stores starting from Thursday.

The gourmet week was opened with a special event, which was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Bulgaria HE Giovan Batista Campagnola.

The customers of Sofia Mall had the exclusive opportunity to enjoy the special exhibition "Century of Italian Menu", organized by the Italian Culinary Academy, Italian Culture Institute and the Foreign Trade Institute.

Culinary products of sophisticated taste and creativity with exquisite taste were prepared by the famous TV anchor Uti Bachvarov and then offered for degustation in Sofia Mall.

The customers were given the chance to win a romantic trip to Venice, dinners in luxurious Italian restaurants and bottles of high quality wines.

Each visitor will received a book, which contains description of the Italian cuisine's history and information about typical country's meals such as pasta, risotto, olive oil, different kinds of cheese and patisserie.

Events within the initiative will be held also in Piccadilly Stores in the cities of Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas and Varna.

The culinary days of various culture and nations in Piccadilly will spread all through 2007, except from July and August. Delicacies from American, Spanish, Greek, French, Central European and Asian cuisines will take turns on the store's stalls, inviting customers with a sea of tastes and many surprises.
