Sofia seeks to get investment from the European People's Party (EPP) for the city's underground extension project and garbage recycling, Mayor Boyko Borisov said at a Saturday meeting.

Borissov met with representatives of the Regional Development Commission of the European Union to discuss issues on how to improve and develop the Sofia infrastructure.

The needed sum for the extension of the Sofia underground exceeds EUR 390 M and another EUR 150 M are needed for the garbage recycling, Borissov reminded.

The two projects were already introduced to the European Commission and now Sofia Municipality expects an answer whether it will get the funding.
