Uruguay celebrated the Cyrillic Alphabet Day, a national day in Bulgaria, with an exhibition of Bulgarian culture.

The "Cyrillic alphabet: a new alphabet in the European Union" exhibition toured Europe last year and was brought to Uruguay by Bulgaria's honorary consul in the country, Igor Svetlogorsky.

Hosted at Uruguay's first Government House in Montevideo, the exhibition opening on May 24 was attended by Bulgaria's ambassador to Argentina Stefan Apostolov, Uruguayan government officials and other diplomats.

The exhibition will be open to the public until June 12th.
