Bulgaria's Varna Tech University Awards Geoffrey Van Orden

Bulgaria's Varna Technical University awarded Thursday the MEP Geoffrey Van Orden and former rapporteur for Bulgaria Doctorate Honoris Causa.

Van Orden was handed the honourable plaque and diploma for his exceptional contribution to Bulgaria's accession to the European Union. He was accompanied by Solomon Passy, the chairman of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy.

After the awarding ceremony he said his contribution to Bulgaria's accession to the EU is too small and the country has contributed to it all by its hard efforts.

Earlier in the day he as awarded the badge of honour of the city of Varna. He received the honourable sign from the mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov.
