Litvinenko's Widow Approaches European Court of Human Rights

The widow of Alexander Litvinenko, the ex-Russian spy who died of poisoning, has approached the European Court of Human Rights, the Bulgarian News Agency reported.

According to the lawyer Louise Christian the complaint of Marina Litvinenko related to breaches of five articles of the European Convention on Human Rights.

A day earlier UK public prosecutions recommended that a former KGB officer should be charged with the murder of Alexander Litvinenko.

The Russian prosecutor-general's office, however, refused to hand over the suspect - Andrei Lugovoi.
