Prison Break's Robert Knepper, who plays the role of T-Bag, "one of the most vile characters on TV", as he himself puts it, said he was surprised with how European Bulgaria looked.

Knepper, who has visited Romania in 1985 and Russia in 1996 admitted to SNA that he had been a little nervous about shooting in Sofia, after his experiences in those countries, but said he was pleased with the way Bulgaria is now.

In fact, the actor was so smitten with Sofia that he called over his wife and five-year-old son to stay with him. I would drive around and feel as if I'm home, and then I'd suddenly realize I am in Bulgaria, Knepper said.

The actor shared some of his pains and experiences from the set of the popular TV show and stories from communist Romania, but a few years before the "tea-kettle boiled over" and Chaushesku was killed.

Knepper is in Sofia for the shooting of Luc Besson's new movie Hitman, where he plays a Russian intelligence agent, a role he says he modeled after president Vladimir Putin.
