European Union Internal Market Commissioner Charlie McCreevy, who is the 27-nation bloc's top financial watchdog, will visit Bulgaria on May 14 and 15.
McCreevy is scheduled to meet Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski, European Affairs Minister Gergana Grancharova, deputy ministers of finance, economy and energy and foreign affairs, the Bulgarian National Bank Governor Ivan Iskrov and representatives of business and financial associations.
He will deliver a lecture on the common market future at Sofia University.
Commissioner McCreevy is expected to look into the progress Bulgaria makes in including financial services directives in its legislation, a poignant issue that he addressed last month.
