Bulgaria's Eurovision bid - the song Water by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov will be the first one performed in the Thursday semi-final.

Before leaving for Helsinki, the duo toured several European countries to present their song and the catchy drumbeat and Todorova's amazing voice have already won over many fans.

This is Bulgaria's third go at the Eurovision and it seems like it may be the most successful so far as Elitsa and Stundzhi, as they are locally known, are fingered as one of the favourites of the contest. Even if they make it to the final they will have already gone further than the first two bids - Kaffe with Lorrain in 2005 and Mariana Popova's Let Me Cry in 2006.

Bulgaria's song will have to battle those of 28 more countries for one of the ten spots at the final. Among those are Ukrania's shocking transvestite entry Verka Serduchka and Switzerland's DJ Bobo, whose song Vampires are Alive enraged the church. Bulgarians are not allowed to vote for their own country
