The Bulgarian Social Democratic Party has declared its support for the MEP candidates of the right-wing hardliners, led by former Prime Minister Ivan Kostov.

An agreement to this effect will be signed on Wednesday by BSDP chairman Yordan Nihrizov and the leader of the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria Ivan Kostov.

Latest polls rank Kostov's party last in the number of seats secured in the European Parliament. It is forecast to garner no more than 2% of the votes in the elections on May 20.
