Bulgaria's Interior Minister Rumen Petkov will open a rally on children's road safety on May 9.
Marking Europe's Day and calling for more careful drivers, the rally will be co-organized by Sofia's Council for Children's Road Safety and the Bulgarian Motorcycle federation.
The rally's main aim is to send a message to everyone on the road that Bulgaria thinks about its future and works towards preserving the life and health of its children. Many more children die on the roads as passengers than they do as pedestrians, and this should be a clear signal to parents that they are the ones actually putting their own child's life at risk.
