Rescue services found the remains of the Kenyan plane with 114 people aboard, which crashed shortly after takeoff in the small hours of Saturday, Cameroon's state radio reported.
The densely forested area near the town of Niete, where the machine went down, as well as the thick fog, impeded the rescue operation, delaying the searching results.
The number of the victims has not been announced yet. There is no word on any survivors.
The Boeing 737-800, which was flying from Cameroon's town of Douala to the Kenya's capital city of Nairobi, was declared missing after losing communication with the Control tower.
Officials reported the people on board included 106 passengers and eight crew members.
There were about 79 Africans, 21 Asians, seven Europeans, one US citizen and six passengers, whose nationality was unknown on the board of the plane, Kenyan Airways reported.
