Rescue services are still combating the densely forested area near Cameroon's town of Niete, where a Kenyan plane with 114 people aboard crashed shortly after takeoff on Saturday.

The heavy rain and the thick fog impede the jet searching.

The Boeing 737-800, which was flying from Cameroon's town of Douala to the Kenya's capital city of Nairobi, was declared missing after losing communication with the Control tower.

There were 79 Africans, 21 Asians, seven Europeans, one US citizen and six passengers, whose nationality was unknown on the board of the plane, Kenyan Airways reported.

There is no word on any survivors.
