Kenyan Plane with 115 people on Board Crashes in Cameroon

A plane belonging to the Kenya Airways with 115 people on board, which went missing shortly after it took off, has crashed in Cameroon, the state radio reported.

The Boeing 737-800 jetliner went down near the town of Niete, in southern Cameroon Friday night.

The machine, which was flying from Cameroon's town of Douala to the Kenya's capital city of Nairobi, lost communication with the Control tower immediately after takeoff.

Officials reported the people on board included 106 passengers, eight crew members and a flight engineer.

There is no word on any survivors.
