Bulgaria occupies the 22nd place among the EU member states in fulfilling the Union's directives, the country's EU Affairs Minister announced Thursday.

The country overleaped Romania, which made it to the last, 27th place.

Bulgaria has fulfilled 77 out of the 107 measures included in the 2007 action plan connected with the country's EU accession, Minister Gergana Grancharova added.

Minister Grancharova announced the figures at a special briefing after the sitting of the Council of Ministers.

On April 20 Bulgaria received a letter from the European Commission, which states the country has still to fulfil its engagements on 52 directives.

These directives are connected with the still unadopted draft laws for the Economy, Finance, Ecology, Agriculture, Justice and the Interior Ministries.
