Bulgaria Wins Balkan Maths Olympiad

The Bulgarian students' team ranked first at the Balkan Maths Olympiad in Greece, gaining 185 points.

In the individual competition the Bulgarians won six golden, two silver and one bronze medals.

The champions are Nikolay Beluhov from the Mathematics high school in the town of Stara Zagora, Deyan Simeonov from Burgas and Elina Robeva from Sofia.

The silver medallists are Tsvetelina Tseneva and Alexander Daskalov, students at Sofia's High School of Mathematics and Borislav Valkov from the same school won the bronze medal.

The tutors, which leaded the team, are Nikolay Nikolov, Petar Boyvalenkov and Oleg Mushkarov from the Mathematics and Informatics Institute of Bulgarian Academy of Science.
