The Bulgarian journalist Martin Karbovski has sent a letter to the EU Commissioner on Justice, Freedom and Security to warn him that the relations between the Bulgarian institutions and country's journalists are corrupted and extremely bureaucratic.
Besides to EU Commissioner Franco Frattini, Karbovski has addressed his letter to Buglaria's Chief Prosecutor Boris Velchev and to most of the European media.
The reason Karbovski wrote his letter is the murder of Yordanka Zapryanova, a key witness on one of the big mobster cases in the country.
Institutions refused to give information in this particular case to the investigative journalists, refused to give the names of the people who work on the case and thus depriving the society from knowing the answers on a hypersensitive public issue, reads the letter.
Institutions and the people in charge speak out only when there is a deal with the journalists and the mediators, who will secure them a positive representation in the media, Karbovski claims.
