US military forces in Iraq announced Wednesday they killed one of the key figures of the terrorist group al Qaeda.

Muhammed Abdullah Abbas al-Issawi, described as a security emir for al Qaeda in Iraq in the western Anbar province, was shot dead during a firefight at the end of last week.

The terrorist allegedly leaded a group, which sent 12-year-old children on suicide missions.

Iraqi rebels used children in two suicide attacks in March.
