Foreign Minister Passy has the highest rating in the Cabinet with 54%, a survey of MBMD shows. President Parvanov is the only politician, whose rate of approval goes up, still he ranks just third with 52% of approval among Bulgaria’s most popular politicians. Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg did not manage to rank among the first five politicians, who enjoy Bulgarians’ highest rate of approval. A total of 38% of the respondents in the survey say they trust him, but still his current rating is negative – 54%. Just two weeks ago the ratio was the opposite.

With the other major Bulgarian politicians the confidence rate is as follows: Finance Minister Milen Velchev - 21%, down by 14% over two week ago, Social Minister Lidia Shuleva – 23%, down by 2% and Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev – 23%, down by almost 20%. Interior Ministry Secretary Boyko Borisov keeps his traditionally good positions, ranking first with 76%. After him in the top five most popular politicians are Sofia Mayor Stefan Sofianski, President Parvanov and Union of Democratic Forces leader Nadezhda Mihaylova.

Commenting the third place of Simeon II National Movement among the political powers in MBMD survey the chairman of the parliamentary group Plamen Panayotov expressed the hope that after the results of the Cabinet’s governance are seen, they will be duly rewarded. “It is clear that the Cabinet is conducting a very difficult reform, which is due to the poor legacy we were left by the previous government, “ he said. Panayotov pointed out that the ruling movement is open to dialogue and looks for consensus decisions, trying to remain true to its statesd priorities.
