Another one of Sofia Mayor's GERB party MEP hopefuls have dropped off the list, the party's head Tsvetan Tsvetanov announced.

Tsvetanov broke the news after he took the party's papers to the Central Election Committee. He explained that Svetozar Panov, who came under number 15 in the list, has withdrawn from the race because he had ties to the former communist State Security Service. Irina Koleva has taken his place.

Kozloduy NPP's Units 1-4 manager Vladimir Uruchev was upped to second place after Radoslav Totchev announced he was quitting the race. Totchev ran over a man last weekend and although probes showed he wasn't drunk or speeding, he decided not to run for the seat.

Nurse Maria Krasteva, who spent only a month in a Libya prison with the five Bulgarians who are sentenced to death for allegedly starting a HIV epidemic, is seventh in the list. Krasteva was released, while the others have already spent more than 8 years behind bars.
