The hearing on the case, brought against the legendary boxer Mike Tyson, has been delayed until August 20.
Tyson is accused of drug possession and using as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.
The boxer's lawyer demanded the delay, as his client did not have enough time to get acquainted with all the materials on the case.
If the ex-world champion is found guilty, he could be given between 27-month and eight-year prison sentence.
Mike Tyson was arrested on December 29 2006 after he cut his car into a patrol one.
During the inspection of the boxer's vehicle, the police found a package of cocaine.
The sportsman was arrested and released on bail on the day of the accident.
