Monday was the deadline for adding names to the electoral lists of each Bulgarian municipality for the upcoming MEP elections.
Bulgarians who have lived in the country or a EU member state for the past three months, and citizens of other EU countries had the chance to sign up for voting in their current place of residence. Foreigners had to hand it a declaration stating that they want to vote and that they haven't voted in the elections for European Parliament, held in 2004. They also had to declare that they have not been banned from voting in their own countries.
All municipal mayors should have wrapped up the lists on Monday, and print media and private radio and TV stations had until April 9 to announce their advertising tarrifs.
