White Mouse Ground Vietnamese Plane

Vietnam Airlines grounded their flight to Japan for hours, while staff searched the plane for a white mouse that had broken loose.

Company staff searched for three hours before they found the mouse in a Boeing 777's food compartment and the plane successfully took off.

"We delayed the flight for more than three hours and mobilised dozens of staff to find the mouse, which we suspect came on board in the pocket of a Vietnamese passenger," Tran Tien Dung, head of the airline's safety department said.

He added that even if the passenger was identified, the company wouldn't press charges or impose penalties. They had to get rid of the mouse, however, because they were afraid that it could chew through the cables.
