Bulgaria's Union of the Democratic Forces have already gathered more than 40 000 signatures for the upcoming MEP elections, officials of party's press centre reported.

The party submitted the papers for the European Parliament vote in the early afternoon on Tuesday. Party representatives handed in 18 folders, each of them containing one of the 18 goals the UDF has set for its participation in the EP. Chairman of the election headquarters Dimitar Avramov personally submitted the documents.

At a press conference, which followed after submitting the documents, party's leader Petar Stoyanov announced the UDF wants a parallel secret files commission to be founded.
