The European Socialists' Platform coalition presented its MEP candidates in Bulgaria on Monday with high hopes of sending 9 people to the EP.
Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev's Bulgarian Socialist Party has partnered up with the Movement for Social Humanism for the May 20th elections.
We have a really strong list of candidates and they will be able to stand for the Bulgarian interests in the European Parliament and the social nature of the EU, Stanishev said.
The list's leader Kristian Vigenin noted that 40 percent of the coalition's candidates were women. He added that the coalition may gather enough votes to fill in half of the MEPs quota of 18.
Stanishev wished all candidates to tackle their rightist opponents with solid arguments, to see favourable election results and to do good to their country in the next two years.
