The Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria organized an international conference to mark the 50th anniversary since the founding of the EU in Sofia's Hilton Hotel on Monday and Tuesday.

The event, which was held under the title "Together in Europe", gathered political scientists, historians and students from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and many other countries.

In the first panel the lecturers traced the historical, economic and political development of the EU back to the Middle Ages.

Alexander Nikolov, Dragomir Draganov, Milen Semov, Iskra Baeva and the foreign special guests Prof. Radu Carp, Dr. Yorgos Hristidis and Dr. Burcu Ozdemir were among the dozens of participants at the conference.

In the second day of the forum, lectures were read by several doctoral students at Sofia University.

After the end of every panel, the guests in the Mussala Hall were the opportunity to ask questions and made comments on the topics discussed.

The two-day conference ended with a visit to the EU's Information Center in Sofia.
