Usually when you do something for somebody else you get money for this. Why then Bulgarians insist on imposing fines on the poor MPs, who just render a favour to their colleagues by going to work and voting instead of them?

Some of the parliamentary officials, who are sharing totally different ideas otherwise, joined forces in defence of a crucial cause - to stop voting with foreign cards. The last is a vicious practice that has been plaguing Bulgaria's Parliament for years now.

All they could think of was to deprive the MPs, who use somebody else's card during a session from his/her wage. Just here another pressing question arises: why should the person who actually went to work, intending to fulfil his/her duties, be charged? Isn't it a better idea to punish those who is playing truant?

Obviously, the Bulgarian MPs do not share such an opinion. And what is more - they consider it absolutely right to continue voting with foreign cards.

The cherry on the top of the cake was put by two MPs, who stated for a national TV channel that nobody is allowed to force them to attend the parliamentary sittings. The institution, they say, should not become a place where a mere "police control" is imposed.

Every reasonable creature, without putting very deep thoughts, could appraise it as law violation. Then, probably Bulgaria's MPs, who vote against the draft ban, should go to a place where police control is being constantly imposed.
