For the first time in Bulgaria, two of the biggest medical associations joined their efforts for a unique initiative - the one for fighting pain in all its forms.

The campaign aims at showing Bulgarians how to fight the most common and unpleasant symptom, e.g. pain and what measures to take to stop it.

The two medical associations that stay behind the campaign are the Bulgarian Association of Neurology and the Bulgarian Association of Headache and Pain.

"If we accept the world population is around 6 B, then we can say that all these 6 B people have the pain problem, which makes it the most widespread problem," organizers said at their first meeting on Tuesday.

The unusual thing in the initiative will be the installations the organizers plan to place in the central part of Sofia. The message they want to pass on is "this wouldn't have happened if somebody wasn't feeling pain somewhere". They will remind people that seemingly a small problem such as pain can lead to many comic but some times fatal for everyday life consequences.

In 1987 Professor Donald Cram from California University, Professor Jean-Marie Lehn form the Louis Pasteur University, France and Charles Pedersen from Dupont University receive the Nobel prize for development of their technology "Host - Guest" in the structure of painkillers.
