Since the day a Bulgarian taxi driver was killed by a client last month, things went totally wrong.

In the beginning of February Sofia was kept in a deadlock for a day by thousands of drivers, who blocked the downtown area protesting the death of their colleague. Back then their demands were of more security on the job. Fair enough it was to ask for more security and upgrades of the inner side of their vehicles. Steel bars to separate them from the clients and all.

But now they gained confidence, started pressuring for more and got more than cheeky in their demands and they even dare to threaten with further protests if their requests are not satisfied.

The newest extravagant demands in the list, which for some queer reason was addressed to the government, is personal chemical toilets, fitness halls and nurseries. These are just a pinch of the things in the lengthy list.

The cabbies are becoming more and more persistent in what they want, and as they claim, need desperately. Don't they remind you of a bunch of naughty kids who stamp with their little feet and scream to the flustered parents "I want, I want, I want!"

They must have gone completely insane or the night shifts made their brains evaporate to think politicians will take them seriously.

Please, enough is enough! Taxi drivers in Bulgaria are the people who gain decent money for their living, receiving them from forced tipping taken from clients, so if they want fitness equipment I suggest they just go and buy it themselves.
How can we be sure they won't surprise us with something unthinkable next time? It could be all -- TV sets, some money, more money, and more time, latest fashion Mercedes, personal gurus, own religion, a week on an exotic island and what not.

Yeah, that might fix it for the time being I suppose, but it's just high time taxi drivers stopped waffeling. But if I have to face another taxi drivers' protest because of their stupidity and have to walk kilometres to get to work, I will personally start a charity campaign to raise funds for cabby's personal chemical WCs.
