Bulgarians and visitors to the south of the country are in for a nice and warm weekend as the mercury is expected to zoom up to 23C on Sunday.

The spring-like temperatures will be the highest in the towns of Sandanski and Petrich, Southern Bulgaria, and will hover around 20C in the rest of the country.

Streams of cold air and spells of showers are not ruled out on Saturday.

The weather is warming up and forecasts don't miss to warn mountaineers of the high risk of avalanches, as melting snow is known to trigger them best.
