An inventor from the US has created a fridge that can throw cold beer cans to those who are too lazy to get off the couch.

John Cornwell, 22, spent GBP 1,500 on making a remote-controlled fridge that will be a dream come true to many men come football championships time.

The remote control starts an intrinsic lift mechanism in the fridge and the beer is lifted to the top where a catapult-like device hurls it at the lazy drinker.

Cornwell admits before the Mirror that his great idea came as he was sprawled on the couch one day: �I thought, 'What if instead of me going to get the beer, the beer came to me?'

"There is a slight danger of being hit in the head with a flying can but this danger decreases the more you use it," the inventor warns.
