7-year-old Bulgarian Grabs Gold at 14th World Children's Picture Contest

A seven-year-old Bulgarian boy won the gold on the 14th Annual World Children's Picture Contest.

The boy, Venislav Angelov from Pleven also won the Golden Prize, which is highest honour of the competition, which took place in Japan's Tokyo.

The little artist won the prize for his painting "Bulgarian lass", which depicts a girl in a folklore festive costume.

The other Bulgarian children who participated in the competition are Emilia Bazliankova with a silver medal; Vanina Hristova grabbed the bronze and Daniela Karaivanov won the honorary medal.

There were 45,978 entries from 67 different countries and 1 region including Japan.
