The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), which unites the most talented young musicians of the community member states, will invite artists from Bulgaria to join, its co-founder announced on Wednesday.

EUYO Co-Founder and Secretary General of the International Youth Foundation (IYF), Joy Bryer announced the news at a press conference, organized by the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria.

"Currently we have around 5000 candidates from Europe, who want to be part of us," Joy Bryer boasted. She explained that a special casting will be organized in the country, on which finalists will be short-listed to demonstrate their skills in front of the competent orchestra jury in 2009.

"Everyone can be part of our orchestra, so if you have a talented brother or sister, be sure to tell them," the Secretary General of the EUYO said jokingly.

"There is no quota on recruiting musicians from the different members states separate nationalities for our musicians, the only obligatory condition is to have at least one musician from every member state," Joy Bryer specified.

EUYO is expected to visit Sofia on March 22, 2008, to throw a concert under the title "Young Europe Greets Bulgaria".

The orchestra was founded right after the United Kingdom joined the EU. After its first tour in 1978, the ensemble gained worldwide popularity.
