Bulgaria is among the countries with poorest regions in the European Union, a research of Eurostat showed Monday.
Actually, Bulgaria and Romania have so much poor regions that the two countries were reviewed as regions.
European Union's 15 poorest regions are situated on the territories of Bulgaria, Romania and Poland.
Greece has eight regions with high poverty level. France, Italy and Portugal dispose of four such areas each. Spain doesn't have a single region listed among the 70 poorest ones in the EU.
Meanwhile, GDP per capita in 46 regions exceeds 125% of the average for the Union.
The regions with highest GDP per capita are London (303%), Luxemburg (251%) and Brussels (248%).
