Bulgaria's EU membership is an integral process, rooted in the past, which will continue for a long time in the future, President Georgi Parvanov said at a meeting

At the Monday meeting, President Parvanov conferred with the Vice President of the European Commission Franco Frattini.

"Bulgaria has the ambition to fulfil all the recommendations," the president added.

At the meeting Parvanov made a review of the indexes in the judiciary, fight against corruptiuon and organized crime.

Frattini assessed highly Bulgaria's achievements in the judiciary and the interior affairs.

He also mentioned the extremely good interaction between the European Commission and the Bulgarian institutions.

Later in the day, Frattini, who is on a four-day visit to Bulgaria, met the Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev.
