Health: Risk of Skin Cancer Higher for Drivers

Drivers, who spend more time in the car, are exposed to a greater risk of coming down with cancer, scientists for the Saint Luis Medical University believe.

Experts claim the exposure to sunrays that come through the car windows increases the risk of skin cancer. It is even riskier to drivers who open the windows.

Doctors studied 898 patients with skin cancer and discovered that the disease spreads on this part of the human body, which stands closest to the side car window.

This discovery supported their thesis that drivers who spend more time in their cars may get cancer formations, that will develop in time.

For this reason doctors recommend drivers to get coloured car windows or such that have ultraviolet filters in order to protect themselves from the disease.
